MONTHLY ZOOM MEETINGS
We want to remind and encourage all of our Sunnymead Ranch homeowners to attend the monthly Board of Directors Open Forum meetings. With the new online format, you can stay informed on Sunnymead Ranch business while driving, preparing the family dinner, or taking your evening walk! Meetings are conducted safely through Zoom which means you can log in (on computer, tablet, or phone) and see us -or- just call in and listen to the meeting (like a conference call). It couldn’t be
easier! If you have questions or comments for the Board, you have the opportunity to email those to the office prior to the meeting to be read during the Open Forum portion of the meeting.

Mark your calendar for the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:00pm and look for the monthly email with meeting details.

We appreciate your continued support during COVID-19. Thank you and be safe!

NORTH SHORE UPDATE

Dear Sunnymead  Ranch homeonwers and residents,

An update on the status of the North Shore project.  This is the area on the north end of the lake which borders Lake Vista Road.
  • Historically, when we have heavy rains, tremendous amounts of soil and debris travels down the hills through v-ditches, under Lake Vista Road and into our lake.  Incidentally, our lake was specifically created by the developers to act as a runoff basin.  So, it is working as it should except that it creates quite a mess to deal with afterwards.

  • In the past, the sediment removal process involved extensive damage to the surrounding landscaping and fencing.  In response to that damage, the Board of Directors authorized the building of a service road, gate, and platform to facilitate sediment removal in the future.  That phase of the project is complete, and we are now in contract negotiations for the sediment removal portion.

  • Once the sediment removal phase is completed, we will move onto restoring the landscaping.  Renderings of the plan are attached for your review and feedback.  We are happy to report that the only cost to the association will be for the drip irrigation installation.  The plants and installation are part of the allotted plant material per the monthly landscape contract.

Thank you and be safe!

Board Message

7/16/2020

July 15, 2020

Dear Sunnymead Ranch homeowners and residents,
As many of you may already know, the state of California is experiencing a recent spike of infection rates of the COVID-19 Corona virus.  And, the Board of Directors for Sunnymead Ranch, has made the decision to follow the current Executive Order that was issued by California State Governor Newsom, and included in the State/County guidelines.   The result of that decision is that the following amenities are to be remained closed until further notice:

Open:
  • Onsite office via phone & email
  • Lake for fishing
  • Tennis courts (for singles play)
  • Walking trails at the Lake Club
  • All Sunnymead Ranch paseos
  • Park located on Manzanita
  • Park located Via Pescadero
Closed:
  • Pool and spa
  • Fitness center
  • Veranda
  • Clubhouse
  • Basketball courts
  • Volleyball courts
  • Playgrounds
  • Picnic tables
  • Horseshoe area
  • Paddle boats

As you might have already guessed, the Sunnymead Ranch 2020 annual budget understandably did not foresee the increased expenses for the staffing that would be required to properly sanitize the above amenities (multiple times per day, each and every day) along with other risk mitigation efforts, in order to safeguard our members health and the association’s liability position.

Please refer to the correspondence that was mailed to the membership by the Association's attorney, Fiore, Racobs & Powers, which summarizes the provisions, costs and risks associated with opening the community pool.

As always, the Board will continue to monitor all CDC, State, County, and local communications with a goal of re-opening amenities as soon as possible.

Friends and neighbors in the interim, please continue to wear face masks while on Lake Club property,  and maintain social distancing to help deter the spread of the virus.

Be safe and we thank you for your patience during these difficult times.

Sincerely,
Sunnymead Ranch Board of Directors

Amenities Update

6/30/2020

Dear Sunnymead Ranch Homeowners,

The Board of Directors has been in ongoing discussions regarding whether to reopen the clubhouse, office, pool, boats, veranda, volleyball courts and basketball courts. The Board tracks and discusses the ever changing government mandates.  As restrictions ease, the board reviews each amenity along with its potential health risk to staff and community, liability risk to the association as a whole, and any additional costs that may be incurred due to staffing for monitoring and sanitizing as it relates to opening an amenity.

A letter from the association's legal counsel was mailed to the membership, providing a full explanation supporting the board's decision to have the pool remain closed at this time.

This association will not and does not make any of the decisions mentioned above lightly. These actions are being taken to protect the health and welfare of the residents of this community. We pledge to keep residents informed of all relevant developments and how they affect association operations.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.  Stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

SRPCA Board of Directors

Important update on lake club

5/1/2020

At their meeting held on April 28, 2020, the Board of Directors agreed to relax some of the prior restrictions for use at the Lake Club grounds.  Homeowners will be allowed to fish, play tennis and use the walking trails.  No guests will be allowed.  Homeowners must continue to social distance while engaging in these activities and must wear face masks as continues to be required by Riverside County.  The clubhouse remains closed for use which includes the restroom facilities and drinking fountain.  These will be the only activities currently allowed at the Lake Club.  Thank you to all for helping to keep our community members safe.

BOARD MESSAGE - MAY 2020

4/16/2020

Dear Homeowners,

As you know, we are in the midst of a very difficult and unprecedented situation that impacts all of us as homeowners, community members, and citizens.

In accordance with the mandates dictated by the Governor of the State of California, your Board of Directors, made the decision to close the community’s facilities, including the lake, walking trails, basketball and tennis courts,  playgrounds, etc.  Following these mandates also helps to stop the spread of the coronavirus by not encouraging people to congregate.

None of this is easy and we understand how challenging it is for everyone. Please be assured that these decisions are not made lightly by your Board of Directors.

As an Association, we want to address how our community members feel, while also upholding our legal responsibility to continue to pay vendors, staff, and utilities, etc. For example; while the pool is temporarily closed, pool service continues, as does other essential services, which play an important role in maintaining our Association.

Sunnymead Ranch is a community but is also a business and monthly assessments are its sole source of revenue. It is also important to note that the Board is required by our CC&Rs to continue collecting monthly assessments.

That being said, the Board of Directors understands that these are extraordinary times and some homeowner’s income may have been impacted due to this crisis. In those instances, the Board of Directors will review account requests on a case-by-case basis. For those impacted homeowners, please submit a written request, with supporting documentation, to the email shown below. The Board will review your request at the next applicable meeting, and you will receive a written response after that meeting.

As a community, we are all in this together.  We hope that you and your families are healthy and safe.  We will continue to keep you informed as situations change.

Questions, concerns and requests for account review should be made via email to:  Manager@MySunnymead.com

Thank you and warmest regards,
Sunnymead Ranch PCA Board of Directors
